Tried a few places down there like Manuel’s, are there any hidden gems?

My In-Laws live in Del Rio and always look forward to eating at Franco's when they come to San Angelo. Sadly down there Manuel's is about as good as it gets.

I like Franco’s as well. Several good places in Angelo. El Paisano’s, Armenta’s and even Cielo are all solid choices in Angelo. Was hoping I missed something on my trips down there.
Guess I’ll just stick to Wright's and the Sirloin Stockade!

Last few times down there we ate lunch at Patty's. In-Laws love it, I thought it was so so at best.

I would recommend Memo's. Food is good and the scenery is the best in town. It is located on the creek in the old part of Del Rio. The creek is kinda similar to the river walk in San Antonio minus all the buildings. Just down the road is the Val Verde Winery. I think it is the oldest winery in TX.

its a long drive from DR to San Angelo! Dining not high on the list in DR. I have not been to Manuels but I always thought Julio's was good for Tex Mex, especially breakfast tacos.

With the in-laws down there and as close as my wife is to the family we go down every couple of weeks. I even get to bring the boat and fish that dead sea they call Amistad.

The only thing good about Memo's is the view, twenty years ago it was pretty good. About 8 years ago took my son and grandson there on a Saturday night around 7 pm and there was one couple there and the food was terrible. My grandson didn't like it and he's like Mikey that eats any thing. Stale chips and terrible salsa and you could tell the other food had been in the freezer a while before they nuked it. Manuel's is pretty good and Wrights steak house as not as good as when the Wrights owned it and got way pricey for us. We stay at the lake in rental trailers and usually grill and cook there.

Chili's fajitas are about the best mexican food in that town.

If you cross the border, watch were you eat. I came down with the howling skitters after eating at a place in boy's town.

Dont cross the border- although 20 + years ago we went to Landos for dinner every trip. This has been mentioned but Manuels is hit or miss. Its a shame a bordertown is without good Texas-Mex
