Just was wondering the likelihood of getting on Lake squaw creek if it is booked and you forgot to make a reservation?

It was a problem this past Saturday. They turned the guy in front of us away and said to my fishing partner, "..don't be that guy. You can't get in without a reservation." He also mentioned that a couple of guys made reservations for Sunday but came a day early and they were turned away as well.

I would think as long as they weren't fully booked you could get in. Reservations are super easy to make, so just make one.

1. NO you do not need a reservation as long the reservation list was not full. 2. YES they have let people in without reservations even if the list was full. As stated above^^^^^^ by others rule number 2 is not a written rule nor always followed. Winter weekends I would not risk the drive. For a couple more months make the reservation: https://www.luminant.com/squaw-creek-park/reservations/

I was 2 boats behind the guy that got turned away Saturday. If they have a full reservation list, you are out of luck. If it's not full you can get in.

If your talking about Saturday the only way to get in without a reservation is to enter the benefit tournament. The lake is already over booked... see the thread below for info.. and yes they will be verifying those added late actually enter the tournament prior to entry.

Talked to the guys at the gate, and no 1 without a reservation will be allowed in if reservations are full,,
The will begin letting peeps in around 9 or so for no shows,,, and anyone who leaves early..
I suggest to get a reservation if you dont want any issues a very simple process...

They must have turned several away saturday, they wouldnt let a guy two boats in front of us also, held up the line, I think he said he would just pull to the side and wait for no shows or someone to leave but thought it was 10am before the no show deal. They almost didn't let me in farsighted guy at the gatehouse could not find my name.

$40 I’ll sell my reservation. I have one every Thur-Sun.

Just a joke. Quit sending me money, already.

Went out there a couple of weeks ago and on the way I realized I forgot to make a reservation (first time I had forgotten) and They let me in no problem.

But This was on a Thursday, I wouldn't risk it on a Saturday or Sunday, They get fully booked and won't let anybody "else" in early.

Thats my money fish

How many boat can that lake handle at one time? Is it a mad house to fish it. I know the little power plant lake here is hard to fish with 50 boats on it.

The ramp only having two usable lanes seems to be the real issue now. In years past I rarely heard of them turning people away. Even if they didn't have a reservation. Even if the list was "full". Now it takes forever to get out of there because of the ramp situation. The more people they let in, the longer the guys working there have to stay after hours. Most Saturdays and Sundays the line is backed up all the way up the hill at 4pm.
