For the 2020 Skeeter Real Money program, it looks like Skeeter owners are out of luck if they own a Skeeter boat older than two years old. Appears the categories for 2020 are:

$5000 for tournament winners with a two year old or less boat powered by at least a 225 yamaha

$ 500 for tournament winners with a two year old or less boat powered by a 200 or smaller Yamaha.

Registration is $75

Last year registration was $30 and rules were:

$3000 for tournament winners with a 2019 boat powered by at least a 225 yamaha

$1000 for tournament winners with a 2019 boat powered by a 200 or smaller Yamaha.

$ 500 for tournament winners with any age Skeeter boat powered by any size Yamaha

Thoughts?

Caymas is the best by far, 10,000 for a Champs or TTT win with a Yamaha and 2500 for a top placing Caymas in the top 25. Triton is 7,000 for Champs and TTT and other sanction events.

I'm a little ticked about this being that Skeeter Real Money was one reason I bought a Skeeter and due to our club does contingency on Skeeter and Phoenix other reason I bought a Skeeter cause Wife liked it LOL! Anyway I had signed up earlier this week for Real Skeeter money and thought that the Registration fee was higher than last year but I'm getting older so memory not as good , once I Registered and paid, Skeeter sent me an e-mail stating that my boat was a 2018 and per there 2 year old rule i would only have contingency payouts till 1-22-2020 i was thinking that the older boat and $500 payout was still there did not realize the new rule till I read this post . I immediately sent them a e-mail and said to cancel my Registration due to my first tour was not till end Of Jan so Registration would not benefit me beside the only time our club will have 60 boats is at the championship in Oct. If they are doing this for new boat sales someone at Skeeter must be drinking there bath water due to most cannot afford a new Skeeter or New boat this stunt puts a bad taste in older Skeeter owners mouth. As far a Skeeter just my option it rides as good as most I've had Triton, Pro craft and have ridden in all the other brands and when the wind is blowing hard the ride is rough and you will get wet in all of them but we all have our favorites. Ok i vented Life goes on and the things we have no control over its better to just take a deep breath and move on Have a great Day!

Guess they don't care about the loyal boat owners that purchased their boats back before they had to pay someone to buy them. Ranger does the same thing and those that still run the real ranger are left out as well. Went to the Houston boat show last weekend and looking at the Rangers and Skeeters they all had signs on them stating low monthly payments of 579.00 for 15 years. I cant imagine paying on a boat for 15 years. That's over 100,000.00 dollars you will pay. But wait, they will give you $5,000.00 if you win a tournament in it...….yea, that makes it better for me. Until people quit paying those prices, they will keep going up.

If you trade it in every couple of years, it doesn’t cost as much as it seems. You basically pay about $7500 a year in depreciation. Win a couple tourneys a year and the boat is pretty much free.

Yeah right.

I’d imagine the reason they’ve dropped it down is due to numbers of anglers in tournament trails. Example. Fork Media Bass only pulls about 40-60 boats on average now. It used to pull 100 on average per tournament. I don’t blame Skeeter. But if you look at Champs and other big trails that pulls consistently 200+ boats a tournament, bigger paybacks on incentives.
Cayman is offering bigger money because it’s a new company trying to push boats. Just like cars sales deals kinda.
