I have a 1996 ranger and when I’m fishing I hate rods getting tangled and being just a mess on the front deck. That being said has anyone ever added a side rod holder like the new boats have next to passenger seat?

I have a 1996 Cajun. It had a solid bench seat which made it suck for not only rods for the guy in the back but just having to step over it getting up and down. I replaced it with a three piece folding bucket seat system like the new boat have. That made a rod ramp on the passenger side, I just added a little bungee cord to secure them. Also they fold down for room and ease of fishing on the back deck. Hope this helps. [Linked Image]

I've used this for several years. Works well.

Do you have a pic of this looking straight ahead at the seat?

Not the best pic but you can see how they lay. I gave enough room for drink holders on each side.

You can order the center seat in different sizes to fit your boat.

I made a bump board with carpet and added a couple speakers and a 3” radio in the old speedometer hole that didn’t work any more. My daughters request! Lol

I made this to hold rod butts when I captained for Huntington HS. It’s the white cutting board material from Walmart covered with carbon fiber sheet from auto parts store. The hole liners are from electrical supply. Spacers and long screws from Lowe’s set it an inch or a little more above carpet. The rods lay alongside the passenger seat and I added a rod hold down stretch cord on the rear deck right behind the seat to go across the rods so they won’t bounce up. It isn’t tight enough to bend rods just keep them from bouncing up.

I'm not old. My bobbers just float a little lower than they used to.

I have been thinking of a way to do that to my boat where they lay against the rod box. Good idea.

Love this idea, too. I think I'm going to make one for my boat.

Good looking seats. They look like they have plenty of Padding.
I've looked at so many and they always look like the padding is thin.
Where did you order them from?
