Maybe this has already been said but you could add a couple of suspend strips and that would add weight to the keel of the bait
and make it track straighter.

Issue is the molded in ring in the lip being off-center is what causes them to not run true.

You guys are killing me. All you have to do is bend the line tie so the crank bait will run straight. ITS NOT THAT HARD TO DO.

Throw them up on the rocks a few times. That’ll fix it.

I have many different brands of crank baits and the Strike King are by far the worst for running straight out of the package that I have used, and for some reason most of them seem to run to my left as I crank them in. I have no idea why that is. Rarely do I get one that runs off to my right side out of the package.

Many of them also have a lot of paint in the eyelet so the split ring doesn't move correctly either, so you have to clean that out.

too much hassle for an inexpensive hardbait when there are so many options in the same price point with out the issues and better results.

Use a cross lock snap size 3 and it will cure that issue. Throw these baits all the time and have not had one issue.

I had some Persuader Crankbaits that did that.

You have never had a Strike King crank bait run crooked on you right out of the package ? That is amazing because 99% of the square bills I have tried never run correctly right out of the package. They have to be tuned to run correctly. I use the cross lock snaps all the time with my crank baits and for me they just make it easier to change crank baits, they do nothing for me as far as correcting how the bait is running. I have to do that by bending the eyelet on the crank bait until I can get it to run straight.
I have had better luck with the 5XD, 6XD and 8XD running correctly than Strike King square bill crank baits.
