Local dealer wants 2 hrs labor to change an impeller on a Merc 60ct. Just change the impeller. No fluids gaskets or seals. Sounds to me like they are using a one arm mechanic. What you guys say?

Thanks, I'm a fair diy'er . I may try myself . Or maybe call around and find an honest dealer for the 1 hr deal. I already have the impeller.

Yeah, it's not hard. You can youtube instructions if you need it. Helpful hint: have a helper that can wiggle the flywheel to stab the shaft.

I say just do it yourself. It is easy. I do 2-3 per year, one on my boat and 1 or 2 for friends. Use anti-seize when you screw the bolts back in and don't forget about the one that is usually under the trim/anode tab. Having a buddy wiggle the flywheel will indeed help, but you can do it by yourself, especially on a smaller motor like yours.
I also agree with boatman that while you are at it, change the LU oil/check for milky color of old oil and have a look at compression and spark. Easy to do.
