Got schooled on ole Hubbard today. Slow day only catching two but beat staying indoors. North side of 66 bridge in 21 foot of water marked the most bait / fish I have ever marked on the lake since early 90’s. Couldn’t get them to bite.

Fished 3 hours on Pool without a bite. I could find a bunch of sand bass on the graph but even they wouldn't bite. Saw one swirl shallow and that was only bass siting. I was still catching them up until 2 weeks ago on a C-rig but last 2 trips have been busts. Think I'll put it away until Feb. or go to my in-laws farm. Caught 8 out there New Years eve, but even that's slow for a stock pond. Normally I can get 15-20. Lake is 3 or more feet low so it's a double whammy as the lake was fishing so different before temps dropped below 55.

Yes, Hubbard was down 3 feet as well and water temp was 49 - 50.5 range for most of the lake.

2 on RH is 2 more than I normally catch on that lake.

Went out today and caught 9 with the largest 5.2 but had 4 over 4.5 lbs so today was much better. Yesterday was crankbait festival for two, today was 3/4 oz jig day.

Hubbard is feast or famine. I’m usually a river rat this time of the year but with lake so low I’m not trekking up there. We need some rain and a really good cold front and a warming trend to trigger these fish. This will get things going.
