Lake Fork - January The wind was howling and the lake was rolling. She was mad today and made it hard to stay on them. Fished main lake points for about two hours catching my first 10 fish then I got tired of fighting the wind so I made a move to look at an area I’d never been. I stayed near a channel that was 45’ deep and caught a few really nice crappie but it to was slow. The majority of fish we’re moving and fairly fast. Chased a few down but most were caught 35 to 40’ down. That really made it tough! About half way through the trip I had to many fish not biting most of the baits I’d been using. I tried them all with a fish committing here and there. As usual I thought to myself go big or go home. They weren’t really hitting flash so I put on ole faithful 3” Slim Stick in Bluegrass. First drop was about a 4# drum. Next was a 2.5# crappie. Two more good crappie and more drum let me know I’d figured out what they wanted. Finished a limit and let the Skeeter eat to the ramp! #JigsOnly #BoneHeadTackke #LakeFork

Nice work sir! Saturday was a little windy too and really crowded. Managed 28 before they locked up.

Tommy, Awesome video and post as usual. In watching your videos, I see that you have a leader with the jig tied to it and weights and maybe even a bead above the leader. Can you share a little more about your set-up? I have been using a 1/8 ounce jig with a split shot crimped to the line about 6-8 inches above the jig. It works, but would just like some more information about your set-up if possible. Input from anyone else on the forum would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance for the help.
By the way, I think this is a great forum. I am very appreciative of all of the posts that everyone puts on here. Very informative. Hopefully one day I will have some valuable input to share.... Right now just trying to learn!

I’ll put out a video of the rigs I’m using this week. Things are really changing.
