New Years Eve I had Chad, son, Noah, and neighbot Brent, from Cypress, closing out the decade on Lake Somerville. 🎣🎉

Their goal was learn a few catfishing techniques and catch enough fish for a new years eve fish fry.

Their first lesson was staying warm so you can watch the cork 😉. Temps started out at 29 degrees. A few missed hook sets due to hand warmers 😵

Fish seemed a little lethargic in their bite. However the ones that did bite were mostly good 2-5# fish.

They ended the morning with 23 nice cats for their fry 😋👍

This brought a close to 2019, with a yearly number of 5,605 fish on my boat this year.
The most yearly since the flood of 2015.

Running total since I started keeping records in 2008, is 67,697 fish 🎣
All catfish caught since 2008 were caught using CJs Punch bait
