I don't know about you, but it's just plain hot. Loved that cool front about a week back. Oh did that feel great for a few mornings.

2nd Week- NONE
3rd Week- 11 (Sun)
4th Week- 18/21/22 (Sun/Wed/Thurs)

***Note for those that can go on weekends only, you have two weekends that only have one or the other of Sat/Sun for BC days. But the weekend of 17/18 is a YC/BC mix, so you still might fare well.

*** ALWAYS ... be sure to note that YC days are also great for Blues. So when you have a clump of BC & YC days, press forward. Like they say in pool (or billiards), Rack 'em Up!!!

*** And be sure to not get them (YC) confused with PYC days, as this is reference to the YellowCat underlying pattern. The YC days are the hardest pull for that day of the calendar, as to the 4 possible 'sigs" of mine [YC/BC/BFT/ZIP].

Looking ahead into September, here is the first PYC grouping---
2/3 (Mon/Tues)

And earliest BC days in September---

As for the KEY, back up to June ...

Most important- Stay Hydrated!!! & don't forget to get new licences soon.

Lynn's Catfish Calendar [LCC] September 2019:

Looks like it is just plain smokin' hot here lately & and will be for a bit more than I & others hoped for. I will be looking forward to the words (if & whenever they are vocalized)- "cold front coming". I did see about a 5 degree drop in the highs forecasted here for the 2nd week's Monday & Tuesday (9th & 10th). I guess if it's a choice between 100+, 98 or 99, then 94 or 93 is acceptable. Of course the heat index is still unreal, but at least a few degrees cooler..

Yep, if you get the normal license ... it just expired on the 31st (OK, you got another 1.5 hours to go). Don't forget to get a new one, much cheaper than the fine will be.

I have to wonder if anybody got a mist sprinkler system set up on their boat to cool down with. Stay very hydrated!!! I caught something in June & got dehydrated & have suffered highly this summer since that point.

Here's the KEY for 2019:

Lynn’s Catfish Calendar [LCC]- 2019 KEY:
+++++++++++++++++++++++
YC = YellowCat // BC = BlueCat // BFT = Buffet (assorted) // ZIP = Zip (not very good)
Tip- Always bait out lines the night before a YC or BC day.
Tip- Gator Gars (GG) run ahead of YellowCats, so bait out late (between 11 PM to 1 AM).
Tip- BlueCats also bite good on YC days, but you can rack ‘em up on BC days.
Tip- Some variations or alterations are due to weather or other external influences.
Tip- For Rod-n-Reelers, use Solunar Tables (etc.) also for best times with my calendar.
Tip- Near Full Moon, Gator Gars & YellowCats seem to feed a few hours later.
Tip- Your biggest YellowCats may hit best towards beginning & end of YC or PYC days.
Tip- My PYC Days keys in on the YellowCat’s Feed/Roam Days Underlying Pattern.
Tip- Bleedover works both ways- Before & After a calendar day. Take advantage.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Also, I shared this in another thread.
>>>>>>>>>>
I am currently mapping out 2020 for my Catfish Calendar. And I must say for those who are limited to hit the water on the weekends only, luck may be riding with you in January & February 2020.

Hang on a second ...

OK, looking at those first two months of 2020, here's an super early glimpse of those weekends, as to BC days (BlueCat):
January 2020---
4/5 (Sat/Sun)
11/12 (Sat/Sun)
25 (Sat) (26/Sun is BFT)

February 2020---
(31)/1/2 ((Fri)/Sat/Sun)
8 (Sat) (9/Sun is BFT)
22 (Sat) (23/Sun is BFT)
28/29 (Fri/Sat)
<<<<<<<<<<

Time for new license for most,
Wear your life jacket,
Be Safe & Stay Hydrated!!!

"Mist sprinkler system set up on the boat." That's an idea I have really got to spend some time on.

Back when we were in Vegas in June/July 2000 (with second Wife) for hers and others' High School Reunion (we had already been hitting around 2007 that summer here in the B/CS area) for Yokahama High of Japan (Navy brats, as she referred to themselves). Her oldest brother was there, as he was a grade higher. His class included another Navy brat- Mark Hamill (we know him as Luke Skywalker). He did not show, so many had pictures taken with a big post-up (life size) of him. Anyway, the hotel we were at, had off to one side of the swimming pool, the fine sprinkler misters overhead that would go off about every two minutes, as we lounged in the sun. In a sense, they did feel interestingly cool in some manner of speaking. It was almost a smoky mist, dry & moist at the same time.

There just seems to be no end to this heat wave. For our locality, I think we are on track to be one of the hottest July, August & Septembers (or the hottest) for the record books.

Please Note--->>>
Another item in the news in the past few days are new proposals from TP&W for some fishing items, including trotlines, throwlines, and juglines. Opinions or public comments are being taken into account up to November 7th be it by email, phone, or on the website. The main item I have an issue with, is changing from 10 day renewal to only 4 days. I understand the semantics behind this proposal, however, I will be proposing an alternative for trotlines. There are certain reasons behind being against 4 days, as well as a few other items noted in the proposal.

Remember that Heat Exhaustion & Stroke can occur at many times the year,
Such is the case due to our recent continuing heat wave,

Note to TFF LCC about Health issues:

1-3-20 Friday 1:42 PM

My Apologies Catfish Calendar enthusiasts!

My health issues deteriorated in November. The Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) as well as AFB (crazy fast & erratic heartbeat got worse. The Edema (water weight swelling) got so bad, well I will say it in a courteous manner- not only my legs from knees to groin, but groin as well was super swollen, making it very uneasy to walk. I had to buy blue jeans 2 inches larger in the waist. But then had to go to wearing sweatpants.

I managed to work at the shop up to the Wednesday before Turkey Day. I thought I might recover some over the 4 day holiday but that did not happen. On Turkey Day, the family pulled an "intervention" on me, demanding that if my doctor could not do anything, then they would escort me to the Emergency Room in the next few days or week. I took off the following Monday & Tuesday, but got nowhere medically. I managed to somehow how go back to work the Wed/Thurs/Fri after T-Day week. But the next week, starting Monday December 9th, it got tougher & tougher to get going. So I attempted, but never made it from the house. Finally, I yielded & let my Daughter (Kristina) take me to the ER on Friday 13th about 4 PM or so. They decided I had way too much water weight (edema), so started me on super diuretics. I lost between 5 to 10 pounds there. I am estimating my weight was about 260. When we got to my room (255) in the hospital, I was already down to about 251. Over the next 4 days, they took out just over 50 pounds & I dipped below 200. The nurses loved that I kept a log (in a small notebook on the counter of the bathroom sink) of how many ounces/milliliters of how much each P-run took out of me. All they had to do, was walk into the bathroom & get my numbers (including time & date).

Anyway, Monday the 14th, I had a catheter done to check for blockage. They were amazed, as I had no blockage anywhere. They called that "great plumbing". However, the bad news, was that my "electricity was shot". This meant that due to AFIB and the heart, I was pummping out very little. Ed showed me on the video of what it was doing & what it really needed to do.

Then my AFIB acted up for over two hours & they showed me & suggested an ICD (originially I thought it was a Pacemaker). Here is where I started getting disoriented due to the new medicines & getting too low of blood pressure. I thought it was installed on Wednesday (18th), but Mom's notes revealed it was Friday (20th) that it was installed. Whew! I feel fo anybody who gets a Pacemaker or ICD unit installed in their chest above their heart. Surgery was nothing, the muscles & bruises & soreness over the next two weeks feels like somebody whipped up on you (gave you a good beating).

I managed to escape Sunday (22nd) about 5 PM. I had not eaten all day. Due to a couple of episodes of throwing up the past few days, made me hold off eating any more in the afternoon. They did an ECHO about 3:30 PM on my Liver & Gall Bladder as they were suspect for the cause of throwing up. However, test results revealed they passed in flying colors (meaning no problems with either of them).

Ending it here, with I was so weak when I left, between myself & 3 others, it took almost 15 minutes to get me into my daughter's car. My legs & feet could hardly support me, plus were very sore. Also, I am sure the body was wreaking havoc, due to the loss of so much fluid, so fast, and played in a part of that.

BUT, GOOD NEWS!!!

I was able to get my Freshwater Fishing & Hunting Licence on Black Friday before the medical issues took over bigtime. The wild hogs (small or big) are no longer afraid to come up around the houses here on the property. Everywhere you turn, it looks like the ground has been thoroughly cultivated. I hop to soon set up a small trap near the house, as it has been years since I had some good wild hog BBQ sandwiches. But now I will have to eat very little. But their meat is much more lean than regular pork, or even standard beef. Looks like fish, chicken, and turkey is my main diet for now. We are about to try some Catfish in various other ways, other than fried. But a friend told me once I could fry it in olive oil. Might try that, but have to find a low sodium batter.

Anyway, it looks as if I am recovering and will eventually at least get to go down with Eric (my son-in-law) & Kristina & the kids, to do a little rod-n-reeling at the 2nd river bridge about 1.5 miles down the road here.

I hope to be back on keyboard Saturday & Sunday, to post December (for you to compare your catches to), and January (it will be in the new 2020 thread).

Until then,
Be Safe & Wear Your Life Jacket!

You can reflect back on your trips & catches for December. I hope to have January posted completely in the new 2020 thread Monday afternoon, but may not have enough time so then it will be Tuesday before Noon.

AFIB and CHF are no joke and glad you’re doing better. As a nurse I would suggest getting a scale for the home for your own daily weights. If you seem to be gaining inform your doc right away for possible adjustments. A good cardiologist should be able to help reduce the likelihood for aggressive use of diuretics. I also always suggest a blood pressure wrist cuff as well if you take heavy diuretics as it can cause low pressures which you already experienced.

Very glad you’re going better!!!

Thanks for the well wishes on recovery!!! Doing better, walking without a cane. The body must go thru some serious shock when you lose 60 pounds worth of water weight gain in 4 days. Yes, I have a huge new scale I bought midyear 2019. My instructions are to go to the bathroom upon awakening. Then come back to the scale to weigh as empty as possible. Deviation of 2 to 3 pounds in 2 days is red alert (9-1-1) according to the chart I was given by Cardiac Rehab. I have one of the ancient original handcuffs my uncle gave some 10 years ago. I think he paid somewhere between $100 to $250 for it, when he got it. As to diuretics, I was on Furosemide & noted as strong diuretic, enough that I had to take a horse pill (1500 mg) of Potassium to ensure I did not lose too much to cause kidney problems. Currently, the discharge note says they want or wanted to put me on Lasek, as it does not take Potassium out of your body like Furosemide does. But they are holding off on me taking Lasek, waiting for my BP to stabilize. My monitor for my ICD unit came in late yesterday. It is so the cardiologist can look into my heartbeat & AFIB as to while I sleep. It will give them a better idea of how my heart is doing during sleeptime.

I am not sure, but I managed to get my combo FW fishing & hunting license on Black Friday, hoping to go down the road to the river soon. My son-in-law (Eric) goes often. He does not like to eat fish, nor clean them. But he loves to catch them. Usually he will bring them back to my Uncle to clean & eat. I am hoping to go next time with Eric.

OK, time to assemble the January 2020 calendar & post in a new 2020 thread.
