Anyone give these a try? I purchased 4 a while back thinking this is just what the doctor ordered. But, the first one I used didn't seem to track right and felt like it was rolling over on the retreive. It figured it might just be a bad one for whatever reason. Tied on another and got pretty much the same results. I did some internet searchng and really didn't see anyone having issues in various reviews other than the TackleWarehouse feedback. Others seem to be having a similar issue. One said it would help if you remove the ring from the eye and tie directly. I haven't been back out to try this yet.

I found that f I retreive pretty slow that it seems to work a little better, but I like to crank it along pretty fast.

Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this problem?

I have a couple in black back chartreuse. Same issue as yours. I just reel slowly. They catch fish. I think mine get to 5-6 ft pretty well. A nice mid depth for fishing deeper docks.

I seem to have that same issue with the 1.0 squarebills....slowing my retrieve corrects the issue

Yes, they have to be moved slowly. The H2O express model runs much better but they aren’t always available at Academy. I have had decent luck with the 1.5F, similar depth but tighter wobble.

I have spent a ton of time trying to tune them and the SK models are tough to get tuned. I prefer the bombers, but they rarely run straight out the box as well, but I can typically get them tuned in 10 or so tries. Unfortunately it looks like the bombers DD squarebills aren't going to be available anymore. I have a handful left but I am nervous to throw them now.

Same issue here. Yes slowing the retrieve seems to solve the issue, but sometimes I want to fish it fast. Very disappointed in these

I've had the same issue with them. i switched over to Arashi with no more issues.

We sold a bunch of them and have heard the same complaint.. I have thrown one, and it seemed to do all right.. But I prefer the Deep Little N..

It is true that the Sq Bill Bomber will no longer be produced as per my suppliers.. And that has been a great bait down here..

I have often wondered what criteria goes into deciding what bait stays and what bait goes..

But I reckon money drives it all..

Pradco bought Norman and they have D/C a lot of colors.. Some of Our best..

Pradco has also recently acquired Gene Larew and Bobby Garland I hear..

Makes me wonder what they are going to do with them..

Thanks all for the feedback. I guess somebody behind a desk signed off on production before they proved the design. Very dissapoined with Strike King.

I suppose people setting behind a desk also stop production on lures and colors anglers like also. Go figure.

The bigger lure bodied ones are more stable
Bomber used to make one
Lucky craft makes several

I love the Academy version.

yeah you have to have a legit 5:4 cranking reel to throw these they will never run right reeled quickly which is a shame.
