I’ve heard countless times crappie fishing will never be bass fishing. Well that might just be true but we can always try. Crappie Fishing is an absolute blast and more people are jumping onboard. Sharing the sport is almost as fun as feeling the thump! Ok, that’s far from the truth but sharing and seeing others successful is pretty awesome. Our contributions to help grow the sport do not go unnoticed. I’m often humbled but to start off 2020 on the front page with the bass on Fork is awesome!

A lot of crappie fishermen I know (myself included) were once bass fishermen but I don't know any bass fishermen that switched from crappie fishing.... don't get riled, just my observation. roflmao

I was once strictly a bass fisherman and got burned out on bass fishing about 15 years ago. Switched to crappie which I find more relaxed fishing. Not to mention they taste much better too.

Yes sir, when I started bringing home crappie the wife said not to bring anymore bass home. I put on a fish fry for my wife's kinfolk and carried bass to get them out of the freezer. Her uncle sided up next to me and said "I don't care for bass but this here crappie is hard to beat". I just grinned and never told him any different.

To me fish are fish when it comes to the pull and challenge of getting them in the boat. I use different rigs in my boat to catch most species, but favor light jigs and soft plastics which have caught catfish from 1.5 lb - 7.5lb. Different fish locales as they present themselves using sonar, knowing a water better as time goes on and always carrying different lures for different presentations, ups the odds of catching fish.

WINTER = crappie, catfish and maybe bass / SPRING = bass, crappie, catfish / SUMMER = bass / FALL = bass, crappie. Wow, I am totally confused. I guess I fish for all 3 species year round? I never winterize my boat because it is running year round!

Used to bass fish, now I mainly crappie fish, it's much more relaxing. For big fish action I net shad and go after Blues

I am a bass guy first. I am also of the opinion that by fishing for crappie, sandbass, and catfish those will help me become a better bass guy. Plus I'm not a snob....

I still fish a few bass tournaments now and then, but I really enjoy learning how to catch crappie now. I have got addicted to catching them on a jigging spoon. If you haven't tried it you need too!
