Putting this out for all high school anglers age 16 and up, to come join us at bassmasters of east texas as members of our club. I have checked with bass and it is ok as long as you are 16 years old. parents are invited to join also, the more the merryier
This is a chance to get to fish with some really good fishermen, who promote this sport as a sport, recognize that the new generation of fishermen is you all, and are excited to give you the chance to really get some good fishing done.
If you or your members are interested, call me at 903-922-9551 for more info.
I had the priviledge of fishing with a young man a few weeks ago at Palestine and was really impressed with his attitude and performance.
hope to hear from you all
Woody, tournament director for Bassmasters of east texas

Woody, wanted to ask you several questions as our local Forney club has considered the same thing, offering membership to our local high schools-North Forney, Forney, Kaufman, Crandall, etc. Do you happen to know the liability situation with minors in bass clubs? Where we all have every participant sign a waiver, is there additional liability? Are you allowing two sixteen year olds to fish with no parent as captain? If captain is allowed, does the captain fish?

I do plan to call THSBA, but as our club has discussed this topic several times, thought your knowledge would help me and others.

Thank you!!

I checked with bass officials, and the liability situation is a signed parental concent, In our club, two 16 year olds would probably NOT fish together as we are a draw club and are trying to give these young anglers a chance to fish with some seasoned fishermen. There would be no captain, as it is a draw format, and most of the young people would be co anglers
good luck on getting new people
