I have one of the models with the yellow “Kevlar looking” grips. I think it is a clean, high quality, build. I dislike the grips so much that I’ve only used it for around 4-5 casts. Then took it out of the boat and put it in the closet.
The rod also seems around a half to a full power lighter than its medium rating. This might be a typical thing with the rods builder, the series, or an anomaly. Who knows. I have not caught a fish with the rod, so it might feel different with a load on it.

All of my rods are Kistlers (20 or so) except 1 - a Cashion John Crews Squarebill rod. I'm not big on the grip myself but since I usually wear gloves it's not a big deal. The quality is there and the action of this rod is perfect for squarebills. John Crews previously designed a SB rod when he was with Pinnacle and it was perfect.....lightning has struck twice.

I have several and I do really like them. The grips don't seem to bother me at all and I have fished several 8 hour days with them. If you can try one out I think you will like it.

I had one that I loved, but wound up breaking it somehow. My kids were teenagers then, so it could have resulted from that. I haven't seen them anywhere in a while, so I wasn't sure they were still around. I would buy another one.

I looked into them when they first hit the market but I couldn't get past the feel of the grips so I have never used one. I am talking about the green handle rods. I have never tried any of the others.
