Some of the olds carried water in a goatskin sack from a stream 5 miles away and uphill both ways. grin

I think most plastic water water bottles used in those days were the 5 gallon type I don't remember any 20 oz water bottles from the 60's. Could have been some but sure don't remember them.

We had something called faucets and these odd shaped containers that had screw on lids, the fancy ones had spigots.

He said not a plastic bottle to be seen in the 50s and 60s though. Does anyone really call any container over 1 gallon a bottle? I have never heard anyone say I am gonna go get that 5 gallon bottle of water in my life. bolt

I remember the milk being delivered and it having a paper stopper/flap on the top. We used to pick up glass drink bottles and redeem them for gas money for our motor scooters/dirt bikes.
Our water bottle was a garden hose, really didn't matter whose house it was at as no one cared if you got a drink as long at you turned the water off.

You would probably hear it if you worked somewhere that used 5 gallon bottles.
I go to our water bottle storage area to get a 5 gallon bottle of ozarka at least once a week to put on the water dispenser at work. They look like this;

Yep and I grew up in the frozen tundra northeast USA and recall the milk freezing and pushing the tops off the milk bottles. Then my Dad bought one of those aluminum insulated milk boxes.

And talk about a great fire starter for our coal furnace. Paper is much more eco friendly and a lot of folks make a living from producing it. Things got really turned around I think.

Same here but no milkman. I never heard of an electric vehicle then Only bicycles. cars/trucks, and tamale wagons the popo drove
