I haven't been cat fishing in a few years do to health, and am eager to get out agin. Does anyone fish these lakes? I am really interested in Still House , and Maxia Belton is the closest lake to me I just never had any luck out there. I am not the best blue cat fishermen, I use to focus on mostly eaters. Never been much of a winter fishermen but I am going to start putting some effort in for them. Anyinfo wold be great or tips would be great if anyone in the Killeen, Waco are would like to meat up send me a message. alway looking at meeting new fishing Buddys

I have had decent luck with eater blues and channels on Belton. Mid lake off camp kachina in 30-40 ft of water on cut shad and punch bait. throw out shome range cubes for good measure. Gotten a few limits that way in the last 2 months. Find the white bass and the catfish won't be far behind.

Will do, Here is Kachina, but there are other areas just as good. https://www.google.com/maps/@31.1600825,-97.5027668,911m/data=!3m1!1e3
That's just were I fish lately. There are a lot of undersize white bass on belton recently so fishing for them gets old quick, but there are eater blues that run with them, cleaning up i suppose. I usually throw in some old cheese or pour some melted real butter on my cubes. I am going on the theory that something about dairy based fats attracts cats. I can`t say for sure it helps but I figure it can't hurt.

I agree something in the dairy attracts cats. I noticed that a few years ago as well. I have caught them on just butter and bread balls .Never thought about rang cubes with butter though probably I gave up on them years ago. I do like the compressed cheese logs, I get them from a net company in La. I am going to head out tomorrow and give it a tray. I have some herring I bought from the asian market and old cheese bait I bought a few years ago from a local guy that worked great.

If you are chumming then you are fishing for little ones. Note, little ones do not hang out when bigguns are around. If you are fishing and all you are catching is little ones then move.

I fish waco for bigguns and usually catch at least one or two every trip, although I havent been to waco in about 2 years. I've been told the lake has changed since the floods. I'm going this year although I havent been yet

forget the chum and get some shad. Bigger the shad the better. There is a bait you can use if you cant get shad, but I'm not ready to disclose that just yet.

I fish for both. I enjoy the fast action for the box fish. I also do fish blues just not as. had to sell my other boat a few years ago do to health. now I am getting better I bought a smaller bas boat kind I have had very good luck on perch fillets. tilapia and carp. when the asian store has them herring I take a little with me in case I cant get shad for some reason I have never had much luck getting them in the winter. Waco in the spring and summer I can put 25-35 in the cooler on cheese bait limestone i can put 45-65 with the kids in the cooler no problem. its just kind of far. looking and fishing some local lakes now
