Heading out to welsh in the morning for the first time. Having never seen the lake before, is there anything I should know? Lake hazards, ramp conditions, etc... thanks in advance.

There's an entire thread on the ramp. Read it. Other threads on the lake being low and stumps everywhere as it's 2+ feet low.

Lake is 3 1/2 feet low

Water temps 62-70

Lake has been hammered the past two weeks

Ramp is a booger to Launch from but it is manageable

Best to be patient

I was there a few days ago , I think the lake has dropped another foot or more . Looks like it could be 4-5 ft low now. On a good note , with everyone loading and unloading with the water low, we have managed to push that sand hump behind the ramp down a little. So the ramp is easier to load and unload on. Make sure u still raise your motor all the way still tho. You will drag your prop if u don’t. I wouldn’t get above idle running the lake , there’s stumps just under the water EVERYWHERE . There are floaters now as well. I rolled over more stumps than I did at fork in the 80’s lol

Good news is you say “going for the first time” so you will have no preconceived notions about what is safe and what is not. Just go out and treat as you would/should any lake that has many stumpy hazards that you know nothing about. Really not that big. Can idle everywhere. Go have fun. Wish I was going..........

Anyone know where there is a list of tourneys for welsh this year? Was wondering if there were any on the weekend of the 10th.

Check the Bass Clubs section, Tournament Dates and Information helps too. Finally, use the Tournament Finder Website, but without looking I can guess that there are at least two clubs planning on being out there.

To quote myself almost never...I appear to be wrong! roflmao

Don't see any of the usual suspects slated to fish her that weekend.

Was out there Thursday, fished pretty good and found a few spawners, size was up from my last few trips out there recently.

No issues with launching, just dump your boat and let it float about 40 yards away and then trim the motor down and start it and you wont have to worry about getting hung up on the hump in front of the ramp from power loading.
