Hey all.
I have 2 veteran friends, one who is missing an arm and the other who doesn't have the full use of the left side of his body. He had an aneurism while in the navy that ended his career. I'm trying to put together a fishing trip for them. I was wondering if anyone out there has access to some electric rigs (rods and reels) I can use. I plan on trying this spring to take them out on a a party boat or something and it would be great to have some gear that would help them out. The guy with the brain damage doesn't get to go do anything like that and I know it would make his year to hook into something big. I took him to a concert awhile back and he told me it was the first time anyone other than his wife has taken him anywhere since his brain injury. It broke my heart and I really want to make this happen for these guys. I plan on going just to take the fish off, bait the the hooks and help get them around. If anybody has a boat and wants to take us out, that would be awesome too but it will happen regardless. I'll drive them wherever. Any help from you guys would be really appreciated and happy new year.

Sorry I don't have any of that gear. That's awesome your stepping up to help. If I had the gear I would offer it up.
You get out of it what you put into it!

Best of luck to you on your wonderful endeavor. That is what relationships are for to be with one another. I commend you on this and if at anytime I come across anything that may help I will contact you.

Contact Paralyzed Veterans of America. They have folks right here in Texas rigged and ready to get these guys on the water. Pontoon boats with loading ramps for wheel chairs, electric rods, etc. You could go as a guest/attendant since you are their friend. Good thing you're doing. Best of luck to you, sir. Edited to add: I do not know if they have SW trips available. Sorry.

I might suggest posting this in the Bluewater board of 2coolfishing.com as there are several boat captains who likely could accommodate you
