Haven't been on Falcon since a championship tournament 4 years ago.
Do ya'll think it's worth a 12 hour drive and a considerable amount of cash the way it's fishing right now ?? Or better off to wait ??
Don't be afraid to hurt my feelings.. Tell it like it is ..

Lake record is only 15.63 ?????? That's a surprise. Or am I reading it wrong?

15.63 is correct..

Numbers are not real good right now, but some quality fish are being caught.. These fish are going to spawn soon.. Look like they're gonna pop..

Call me w/ any questions..

All about the weather. You didn’t mention when you were thinking. I’ve gotten sunburn in January and had great fishing trips. I’ve also been down there when a front brought near freezing temps and fishing was tough to say the least. No guarantees in life(or fishing) but I would try to be flexible about going during stable weather......or do what we usually do: just go when you can!!!

Thanks everyone.
A couple guys going down in a few days and a friend wanted me to go with him... Since I'm retired can go most anytime.
Weather guessers are showing a warming trend but sounds like now is not the best time to head down.
I've fished enough tournaments in the last 30 years to know. I'd much rather go catching than fishing when theres no pressure to pre fish. I can stay home and get skunked.
Think I'll decline the invite and wait for better reports.
Thanks again.

Oh yeah, coming from Tennessee that's quite impressive.

I was just surprised at that because of all the talk about giant fish there. There are lakes near the DFW that have produced fish that large. Lake Fork is 18.18 and I assume there are other lakes that approach the 15# mark.

I just expected a bigger number ... that's all. fish

It's the percentage of DD bass and how aggressive the fish are down there. Probably the easiest (not that it's easy) public lake to catch a DD in Texas.
Lots of current, even the bigger Falcon bass tend to be long, thick, and mean instead of the gelatinous distended glutton belly bass (not that there's anything wrong with that) you see caught in other places.
