Fished Texoma with Daniel uncle Kevin and cousin Ben today. We started off the morning fishing 2 ft of water in a little current. Only caught a few eaters our first spot so we went and looked for some better fish. Marked good fish in 20 ft around the striper so we set up a drift and pulled boards through em. We were marking good fish but just couldn’t get em going. After 3 hrs and 3 eaters we finally hung something good. Uncle Kevin popped a 30 lbr for his new PB. Wasn’t long and Ben got him one. Fishing was tough and it was a slow day but luckily we got a few good ones and made some good memories.

Glad you got to make your trip! Sometime a good fishing trip is measured by the pleasure of sharing with close friends and family. Looks like y’all fulfilled that! A nice fish and a personal best just made it better! I’m sure Daniel was a lot more enjoyable than the last guy we hit Texoma with. Congrats to all!

Awesome trip Ya'll!!...I restrung all the cat rods yesterday and experimented with making different types and size stinger setups...I can't wait to get back out there and redeem myself from a flathead I lost

Thanks Amigos! For Lewisville I downsize my stinger rigs to accommodate for 8” baits Serj. My front hook is a 6/0 and the stinger is 8/0. I found that for Lewisville sized slot fish which are mostly 20 lbrs, this set up works best for 20-30 lb fish but I’ve caught a few 50s on it. I only run stingers on my planer board rigs. I usually use big chunks and filets on the inside rods with 8/0 hooks. When I know I’m gonna be fishing around true monsters i upsize my planer rig front hook to 8/0 and my stinger to 10/0 and increase my bait size to 10-12”. I also run a bigger float for the big baits. This time of year I go big. A lot of guys reading this right now are thinking you don’t need baits that dang big to catch big fish and this is definitely true but I have zero interest in catching box fish this time of year so I try to put on a bait big enough that nothing under 10 lbs can swallow it. Some times you gotta drift through a bunch of peckers on Lewisville to get to the good ones.

Dang sounds like a good combination Buddy. Thanks for the Tips!! ...I rigged some with the front hook in a 10/0 and stinger at 8/0 and vice versa....To me I will take eaters but love the trophy fish and I of course CPR. I mainly crappie fish but have the boat rigged for and still love to bluecat
