Just wondering if anyone else is catching them full of eggs? I’ve caught several that there belly’s were full.

I sure hope the water comes up on Sam Rayburn soon. Give these fish more spawning areas behind the buck brush. If not they are going to get hammered when they push to the bank. I don’t target bedding fish. I target the pre and post spawn fish. With the winter pattern though we just haven’t been getting the big rains. I guess we will see.

They should be full of eggs. Their bodies start producing them in late fall/early winter.

I have had that breakfast a time or two . Use to go visit a old man and we would fish lake Vernon in Louisiana. He insisted you keep all legal fish and we ate them for breakfast on supper . It was good times . Old man is gone now .

Lot of rain moving through Friday night through Sunday morning. Need some more timely rains in the watersheds in January and February.

Coolarrow
Fished several days recently and only 4# pounders and larger appeared to have eggs.
Big girl looks like an 8 pounder to me. Did you weigh her ?

The fish on Falcon look like they're going to pop.. Although fishing has been a little tougher the last couple of days..

Nice one man.... how deep was she? I agree I hope the water rises pretty good soon. I don't bed fish either. That's not fishing to me. Last year with the water so high was great for the Spawn.

That one weighed 6lbs And change. I caught several in the 5 and 6 range that have the big belly. Even some of the 3lb ones do. Most of the better fish I’m catching are on the creek channels or on cover right next to it. Close to deeper water.

Good deal. They might be getting closer to pre-spawn mode soon.
