I’m trying to repair holes that the previous owner put into my camo pa. I’ve seen the kit that Hobie offers with all the colored rods and it seems ridiculous to have to buy the whole kit for only 1 color that I need. Does anyone know where I can get some camo pieces to make the repairs?

Thanks in advance!

This is a very tall order. We need the best. Get me MacGruber.

Talk to your local Hobie dealer. most of the new ones coming in have small pieces in the hull from when the hatches etc were trimmed before shipping. Best of luck, Phill

Save The Pieces! If you make big holes for rod holders, etc. in your kayak, save the drops for future repair weld material. Not something you usually think of, but handy if you need them. IslandJim

Get some HDPE from a camo bucket. If you look on the bottom of the bucket and there is a “2” on it, it’s hdpe

If you don’t have a camo hdpe bucket, get some camo spray paint from Walmart and paint the bucket camo

When plastic welding, wear a mask/respirator

My son has a different brand kayak that he rubbed a hole into one spot on it.

If you will watch a few YouTube videos, they’ll show you that many of your plastic bottles in the laundry cabinet will work just fine to patch a hole in your kayak.

He was really nervous at first, but after a few minutes, he got the hang of it.

Go ahead and buy one of those lids from Wal-Mart. Drill a hole in it. Grind a spot thin. And then practice patching the holes..... before you try to patch your kayak. Once you’ve mastered the right amount of heat and how to apply the material in the right amounts, THEN get the kayak out and go for it!!
