My lovely mom gave my wife a couple trivial gifts, and me a cashiers check for $5000 to “buy boat stuff”!(reminds me of the mother-in-law mayhem commercials) Lol. Well. I couldn’t keep a straight face, so I ordered a new Seastar setup for the boat, Active Imaging 3-1 transducers for the boat, new side plastics, ramp nose, and transport strap for my Ultrex, a RMP Blade light for my power pole, 5 Curado DCs, an SLX DC, two Falcon Lowriders, several spoils of line, rod socks, reel covers, etc.

Then told my wife to go furniture shopping for her home office.

Holidays. it is what it is.

I made my Mom cry. That was my big gift this year. I walked into James Avery with no idea what I was after. I walked straight to a pendant named "The Old Rugged Cross." Mom's favorite hymn. Bought it and a nice necklace for it. I gave it to her with just my sister and I there, before the crowd showed up.

Mom shared a story Christmas night she'd never shared before. When Mom was 13 her grandmother lived next door. She was sick and bed ridden, unresponsive. Being the youngest, Mom was tasked with sitting with her, just holding her hand. The only times she ever got her grandmother to respond to anything (by squeezing her hand) was when she sang "The Old Rugged Cross" to her.

Santa brought me a 7' Medium Jacob Wheeler Spinning Rod. Also got $75 worth of Academy gift cards so will be getting some new tackle soon.
