I’m now very confident that I can identify underwater loons with my electronics. They practically ran me out of Little Mustang Bay...

Loons? Are you sure those weren't cormorants or anhingas?

Does you have photos, sounds cool, I’ve had a loon or two around the boat sometimes, never more than 2 or 3 at a time.

No hydrowave but over solid schools of bait from 8-18’ in 24-32’ of water. No pics but envision a strong mark (similar to a V) from top of the water column towards and tracking your bait. In three different locations over a mile apart in the same bay, I had a single loon or other species (not cormorant) hassle me...

Loons aren’t far from bait fish. Big fish aren’t far from baitfish.

There was a loon during the shad spawn pattern on Conroe one year. Loon equaled 6#+ bass.

After reviewing and comparing internet photos, they very well may have been anhingas? No offense intended towards the loons...

I asked about the Hydro wave because I've noticed on several occasions a loon or two diving very close to my boat. And they seem to stick around longer than normal.
I've cast a hard bait past them many times hoping there were fish under them. They will go after a bait at times.

I fished the mouth of Williams and Little Mustang....saw several loons (not anhingas, they have a longer beak) each time I saw them there were bait fish on my graph.
