Looks like I finally have a few days off and looking to get The Legend in the water for the first time in a few weeks. I love Welsh (2 hours away) but live closer to Squaw Creek (1 hour). Any votes for either? Looks like a light reservation day at SC on Thurs/Fri but I'm not sure how accurate that is for the number of boats that actually show up. I picked up a handful of the new Temple Fork Tactical Elite rods that I want to test out, so mainly I'm looking to get into some numbers. I know either place isn't known for a big 'un. Thanks and Merry Christmas to y'all.

Hard to beach and put boat on trailer at welsh. Numbers was off for me, seen stumps just out of water that Iโ€™ve ran for years. Scary low! I only seen maybe 5-6 glass boats on lake Saturday.

Power plant is not running on Welsh is it? Wasn't a week ago I was told. Doesn't mean you can't catch fish, just that it won't be warmed by the discharge.

Not running then. It should be in the high 70s or more coming out of the discharge if it's running. Still my lake was 52 yesterday so 63 beats 52 any day.

I got up early to pick up some donuts (we live in Granbury) and I bet I saw a dozen bass boat rigs heading over to Squaw on 377. Iโ€™m not very envious of going out there today.

Welsh plant is generating, not as much as before but water temps still around mid 60โ€™s on most of the lake, upper 50โ€™s on the upper end.

I think you are right, and when that happens I will do a lot less fishing in the winter. I'm over fishing 40 degree water. If I want work and frustration I'll go to the office.
