Can anyone recommend a good pair of cold weather fishing gloves, preferably something that can keep your hand warm but that you can actually fish with them on?

For catfishing I buy mechanics gloves at Harbor Freight for $4. if you are ripping across the lake going 60 mph they wont keep your hands warm. Use heavier gloves over them. $9.99 at Walmart

I have been using the Head running gloves that you can get at Costco for $12 or so. they have an index finger that works a touchscreen as well....pretty handy.

I just ordered the Aftco thermaflex glove from tackle warehouse. They won’t be enough for driving when cold but for fishing I’m very happy with my purchase. The only thing I see as a problem is they aren’t waterproof so when catching fish I had to remove to unhook.

I have 2 pairs of the Aftco gloves, cut the Index finger and thumb off one pair. They work good, and you can put a hand warmer in there on the back of your hand if they aren't warm enough. I also sprayed them with water repellent when I resealed my suit and shoes. They aren't great for waterproof, but they are ok in a light rain.

I get in the habit of bringing out several pairs of gloves when it starts to get real cold. Inevitably your gloved hands will get wet on occasion and it really helps to have some dry spares on hand.

I have a pair of real heavy/warm mittens I wear when i'm running from spot to spot.

When I'm fishing, a lot of times I'll wear a pair or latex gloves under a pair of windstopper glommits I bought at Cabelas. I also have a warmer pair of fleece glommits. Sometimes I'll wear the windstopper pair on my left hand that I use to palm the reel, and put the warmer pair on my right hand that is just being used to reel.

I've also had good luck with various other glove liners made of silk or fleece.

I've been wearing wet weather golf gloves with silk glove liners for years now the great success.

When it gets real cold, sealskinz. Before that, BPS 100mph are fine.

In my opinion there is no one glove that is a magic bullet. It all depends on how cold, how windy, and how you are fishing. I'm from Wisconsin so I'm used to fishing in real cold which doesn't exist down here.

The best overall solution I've found isn't cheap. Simms prodry glove with the wool glove inserts + guidewear half finger windblock gortex glove. I put on the wool gloves as the base layer. The first two finger tips and thumbs are exposed for casting and knot tying etc. If I'm driving the boat, I put the prodry glove over-top. This will keep you warm in any weather you will encounter within 1000 miles of Texas. When fishing you have two basic options depending on how cold it is. You can put a nitrile glove over your left hand to keep the wool dry. (then lip fish with your left hand). Your right hand has just the wool, with the exposed fingers for dexterity. With your hand moving to reel constantly it'll stay warm. If it's real cold I'll keep the prodry glove on the left hand and put the guidewear half glove overtop the wool on the right. (all this assumes you are fishing a right handed baitcaster)

Here's the bottom line. There is a trade off with warmth, water protection, and dexterity. There is no glove that gives you all three.

I assure you your hands won't get wet with these and they are warm. They run a little small so err on the side of the larger size.
