I have my own baits I like to use, but I am interested in the success anglers have had with purchased boilies. What brands, size, and flavors do you recommend buying? I am mainly interested in success with buffalo species.

I have a huge collection of boilies and have caught on 'em all! Rod Hutchinson and Mistral are some of my favorites - with Nash coming close behind. My favorite size is 15mm but I like to use as small as 6mm and as large as 25mm on occasion. If I had to pick a favorite flavor I'd go with one of three - Tutti Frutti, Rosehip Isotonic, or Mulberry Florentine

TXMulti-Species - Thanks for the reply. Great recommendations. I have already ordered Nash 20 mm Fruit Twist. I want to do a side by side comparison with my best buffalo bait.
Oh and when you say you have a “huge collection of boilies” I can only imagine what that looks like. You full time carp/buffalo guys can go a little overboard on baits and flavors lol.

Lol I might have a big bookshelf full of bait and a giant plastic tub or three also full of bait sitting in my closet. A fair few buckets of bait in the garage, a giant metal trashcan filled with bait... I've been looking at a storage shed for more space

Now they're not boilies but tigernuts are great for Buffalo as well. You can buy 'em premade or make 'em yourself. They sell the raw product at Big Carp Tackle or even Bass Pro/Cabela's, sold for turkey hunting as Chufa Seeds

The problem with boilies imop... unless you are prepared to stick with them, the financial costs (buying in bulk), etc, etc, they end up catching more anglers than fish. now..for sure purchase a few for pop ups, but otherwise like other anglers have mentioned, corn, maize, etc, is the way to go. Don't feel bad...we all go through our "commercial boilie stage" as carp anglers. lol...

Thanks everyone for the input. I have completed my comparison of purchased boilies. I ended up trying Nash 20 mm in fruit flavor. I was only able to catch 2 buffalo with them. I landed six buffalo with homemade boilies and 17 with my best buffalo bait.

Would be interesting to see a comparison of your buffalo bait vs. tigernuts or sweetcorn

I have already tried it against corn and lots of pack baits. It is definitely better for larger fish lol.
