Just ordered livescope.

I'm consider whether to mount it to:
1. Trolling motor (Xi3 with spot lock)
2. Pole-ducer at the bow
3. Pole-ducer at the helm

my only graph is the 93+ which is at the helm. i was leaning toward mounting it on a pole-ducer with ram mount by the helm so i can drop it without having to drop the trolling motor and scan the brush as i get close. others have suggested the bow and to buy an additional garmin cradle and simply move the graph to the bow when using the livescope.

This is on a 175 tracker so the distance between helm and bow is ~ 6 to 7 feet.

Get a ram mount D series with an extra D series base. Get your extra Garmin cradle. You can move the pole ducer to the console when you want to use it there and move it to the bow when that's the preferred location.

If you do this, you will need to move the livescope transducer cable from the console cradle to the bow cradle when you move the pole ducer.

I went all redneck with mine and built a little wooden platform and built the transducer pole out of pvc. I can move the platform as needed on the boat.

Put it up front where it will end up eventually (and where it should be.) on a poleducer , not on the troll motor.

I used my Scope on a pole for almost a year and finally decided that I'm just not coordinated enough to perform 3 functions (Scope, Troll and Fish) at the same time. And trust me it is much harder to keep the trolling motor and Scope heading in the same direction than it sounds. If I'm guiding a partner in a tournament and not fishing, I love the pole, but if I'm trying to fish it can become really frustrating.

How's that for hedging your bets?

Recently had David at Shut Up and Fish install livescope and PoleDucer on my boat. Mounted upfront with Ram mount. I had him mount the PoleDucer on same side as TM. All wiring tucked away; Reason: Access room on people getting in and out boat on front deck have an open side. System works great. All tucks away neatly. Would suggest mounting dead center on front bow. This is where you will be when hunting with the scope. I would also highly recommend David. You get a heck of a lot more than just the install. His tutorials and accessibility are well worth it.

I've got my LS on a DIY pole up front...works great...then just save you up a little more $$ and buy you a used console graph with side imaging and you'll be all good to go.

I have had different 3 poles and the mount by fishing specialties is the easiest to use by far.

It looks like your sonar is mounted on a ram mount and is beside the windshield. What about just rotating your sonar around towards the bow when using the livescope. You would still be close enough to see it clearly. And I agree that the transducer should be mounted on the bow.

this is what i am leaning toward doing until i have more $ and multiple graphs. the Ram is great and can swing 360. my boat is not so big and my eyes are hopefully good enough to swing around when i need to. maybe my neck will get sore but oh well!

I have mine at the helm, and really like it for I can look over the whole bottom of the boat and two people can fish easily. I can Guide my partner to an area and I can fish behind that as well. I would like a stronger pole (Built mine) but for now im ok. my Lowe 1990, does not have room for two people upfront, so I like the mid Boat area to mount. just my two cents.

I've got mine up front at the bow of the boat on the Pole-ducer which I bought from David Goodson at Shut Up and Fish. Its an awesome independent, break away pole that you can move from left to right.

Just got my new Livescope and a separate pole from Fishfinders.com. Talk to me. My trolling motor is mounted on the left side of my bow and drops down on the right side. I want to mount the Livescope/pole on the right side, too, so I can cruise the docks. 1) How far should my LIvescope be from my trolling motor, or is it an issue? 2) Will the wake/spinning from the trolling motor prop cause any issues with my Livescope? 3) My boat is not a deep V hull, but it does have a medium V. Will this be a problem? Do I need to install the mount as far forward as possible so the deeper V doesn't block anything, or is this an issue? For the most part, I will be looking forward and right, and some left. If the spinning of the prop isn't an issue, it will be no problem, then. Thanks for any experienced advice!
