I was able to take the yak on the Guadalupe in New Braunsfels a week back. I paddled downstream and fished on my way, but didn’t get so much as a bite. I did see two big stripers working their way upstream, but nothing other than that. I came to where the Comal junctions with the Guad and decided to paddle into it and try my luck there. Just my luck it was lawn trimming day on the Comal apparently. Didn’t catch anything on my way upstream, but when I turned around and let myself drift back down stream, I finally started getting bit. I tried Gulp and soft plastics but the Mepp’s was what they wanted that day. I caught a few Guads and a solid number of Redbreast. Had to burn the wind back to the launch so I didn’t get locked in. Actually had a lot more time than I thought I did. Had the camera running but my SD card crapped out on me so I only got a couple on film. Hope to try it again soon.

Thanks everyone for taking a look and all the kind words!

Yeah Vogey. I had the polarized lens. It makes a huge difference on the clear water we fish around here.

I ended up launching from Cypress Bend Park. Only one obstacle to work around but it was a bit of a bear. Not to mention it was apparently lawn care day because all the leaves and grass clippings were in the Comal. I had to pinpoint my cast quite a bit.
