Looking good. Fun it is to try new ties and experiment. Trying to get into a fish’s brain is part of the fun. There’s a decision making process going on with fish and whatever is presented to them. The worst scenarios are when you get a follow but then the last second rejection.

One hour out on the bay helped change how I fish. The wind suddenly died to nothing, the chop disappeared, the water was clear and I looked into it and realized I was surrounded by redfish. I could see the fish all around my kayak and they would follow my paddle tail on a jig head and veer off just before the eat. What frustration! Covered in good fish and none of them want to play. I had not been fly fishing very long and was still mostly using the baitcasting gear, but happened to have a fly rod with me rigged and ready. First cast with the fly, fish on! What a moment! Turned me from ‘ I’m not sure about this fly fishing” to a true believer. Fly was a version of redfish crack I was doing then and an experiment in of itself.

This is good quote to encourage people to try new things, tie different flies, and make some novel moves, maybe they work out and maybe they won’t, but there’s something to learn in the doing.
