Hi All:

My family and I moved to the Weatherford area about a year ago and I am finally to the point that I want to some crappie fishing like I did growing up. With that said I am looking for guide suggestions for this time of year in one of the lakes around Weatherford.

I know that Benbrook is right there (but they are low most of the time) and lake Weatherford is 5 minutes from my house, but I would rather go to a different lake.

I would like to keep it to within about 60 minutes or 90 minutes of my house so that rules out Lake Fork (I think). I was thinking about looking for a guide on Bridgeport or Possum Kingdom, but not sure which would be better this time of year.

Any input would be appreciated on who i should look for and what lake.

Thanks,
Kyle

You could use James Davis at davisguide.com. I have used him a couple of times and he is good. Easy to fish with and fishes out of a nice large boat that is pretty comfortable. He guides on Benbrook, Granbury, and Whitney. He might be able to help you out.Good Luck

I think Lane at Constant Pursuit Outfitters guides out there.

I wouldn’t overlook Lake Weatherford, it’s a good little crappie lake. Crappie barge can be really good this time of year under the right conditions - colder the better. Lane Palmer or James Davis would be your guides for the area. But like was already said, I think Lane is chasing the furry animals right now.
