2017 Legend 199 I purchased in July. Added a 36v Ultrex at purchase. Everything worked fine, just wanted to add the 4th battery and charger. Took boat up to Dallas (from Austin) to add another battery and 4 bank (which I purchased from installer) charger as it only had 3 batteries and a 3 bank charger. Brought an HDS 12 to have installed at the console, purchased from installer a new point one antenna, and asked him to link the 2 existing HDS 9's to the new 12. 12 won't read the transducer and was having problems with battery running down after the new install. Took it back to Dallas. Installer says HDS 12 needed updating, so they did that. Still not working. Probably the ethernet wire. Installer says turn off the power switch behind the drivers side to make sure power poles don't run down the battery. FYI, they didn't before the new stuff was installed...ever. So, bring it home, turn off the switch, charge up the system overnight. Get up next morning and NADA. No juice on the starting battery. WTF? Installer is well known and I'm doing my best to be reasonable, but I think they skewed the pooch. Any help with this? Too far to drive to bring it back up there on what should be a simple fix!

Well. I ain’t a genius, but if you “charged” the batteries all night and that morning they are dead....something isn’t charging. Check the charger, extension cord, wall outlet, and battery.
I have the same basic setup, and I don’t have that issue. So it isn’t a compatibility issue. I also never shut off my power poles. I use the CMonster app to make them “sleep” after so many hours of non use. But, that still requires some power. I have the Lowrances, NMEA 2000 back bone, Ethernet, and P1. They all shut off completely when I power down the main power switch on the dash.
I’d check to make sure that the charger and leads are wired correctly. Check the in line fusing on each lead. Check that the charger is programmed for the battery profile types. (AGM, etc).
The installer doesn’t build the equipment. The installer installs it. It is a very simple installation. Hard to get it wrong.
I’d also familiarize yourself with the products you bought by reading the owners manuals and maybe watching a couple of the hundreds of online tutorial videos.
Best of luck. You’ll get it figured out.

Does your charger have read outs on it to tell you how far along the charging process is? It should also have error lights to let you know if there is a connection error, etc. There are far too many variables on the graph to diagnose with the info you gave.

If your charger is equipped with AGM or Wet Cell settings? That right there could be your problem.

Have you tested the battery?

On the issue with the power poles not using juice: my graphs and Power Poles were wired straight into main(starting) battery. That gave me no chance to ever completely cut off power to them. Once when the Minn Kota 4x15 bank charger got left unplugged for an extended time the blue tooth from the poles ran the battery to zero. Tried everything to get it to take a charge....nothing. Cost me a battery. I added a Perko switch just to isolate these and now can turn them off if going to be away from power source for an extended time(travel...) but this doesn’t happen over night. Check the charger bank. Switch the wires to different batteries. Load test the battery. Not saying it’s not the installers fault but start with what is new/changed/added to the mix. Good luck!
