Did Falcon just discontinue their Cara line? Tackle warehouse has only one option, and falcons online catalog doesn’t have them. Be a shame if the got rid of such a good rod line.

No more American built rods from Falcon. Not sure that matters if all the components are from overseas anyway.

Yes, it's a sad deal. My all-time favorite rod has been discontinued. Thanks, Gene.

That's a shame... I've been loyal to Falcon since I was a little kid, mainly for the quality but also strongly because they were made in the US (fewer and fewer of them as time went on I understand); that little US flag on each rod meant something to me.

Probably going the cheap route to compete with what's on the walmart shelves. It was darn near impossible to find anyone that had them in stock before.

I broke a Cara and they sent me an Expert as the replacement. To be honest its a great rod and I really don't care where it was built.

Falcon has been very vague on this. The Cara had been taken off the website and now is back on there in the rod lineup. I was in the local tackle shop in OKC the other day who have a very good relationship with Falcon. They had a new 2020 Falcon brochure and the Cara is in it along with the Expert. My guess is that it is going overseas as well but who knows at this point. I will say the new Expert and even the new Lowrider are really good feeling rods.

What would be the advantage in having two rod lineups at the same price point?

I love the McClelland series. Was going to get another after New Years, but not if everyone sells their stock out first.

The Experts are $199 and the Cara starts at $234 and goes all the way to over $300 for some of the ST's and McClellan models.
