Fished Fayette today from around 10 am to 3 pm...got to the lake at 9 am but the fog was so thick you couldn't see much of anything so just killed time in the ramp area. Water was around 2 ft. low and appeared to be normal clarity. In the outflow (discharge) area the temp was 85 degrees, and most everywhere else it was mid 60s. Very slow day...got 1 small bluegill, 1 nice catfish, and a couple bass. The bass were caught on a swimbait near the dyke where the pelicans & comorants live, and the catfish & bluegill came from the warm water discharge area on a gulp alive minnow. [Linked Image]

Wow. I was thinking to myself today that it looked like a good day to be on the water and was thinking about Fayette. So she still hasn’t turned on for bass yet. Did you try that spot we caught the cats and perch on last time ?

doc...I did, but no luck...it was pretty hard to fish there with the wind & no spot lock...thought about dropping the anchor, but decided against it with all the rocks down below.

Curtis...This lake is my year round home. Should probably fish Meadow & Placid more to get out of my comfort zone...really miss Dunlap...saw lots of kayakers out yesterday...one was green & blue and thought about you, but he wasn't catching anything, so I knew at that point that it wasn't you. wink

Great post as always Vogey and some nice fish. Back in my fishing days I fished Fayette a lot during the winter for bass. It is one heck of a winter
bass lake.
