Who said anything about a blind or a feeder? I am looking for a range to sight in a new rifle/scope, preferably one longer than 100 yards.

Quail Creek

Never shot here before but have driven by. Always quite a few vehicles there.

Elm fork and Garland have 100 yd positions.

Elm fork requires 3+ Power scopes on the 100 yd and you must hit the paper.

Other than that I got nutthin'

it's a pretty nice facility, the chairs at the benches are just about worthless and some of the range officers are, to speak nicely, a bit a-hole-ish, and will stand over your shoulder sometimes. but i don't blame them for what they probably have to deal with on a daily basis. oh, and they call cease fire about every 10 to 15 minuets, no matter what, on the whole range. on second thought, yeah, it kinda blows, lol

i do like fossil pointe, good and helpful people out there and the facility isn't bad, it's just a little more country. they only call a cease fire if someone needs it

coff, did you get to shoot that new rifle yet? gonna be a nice day for a shoot

A few years ago I read about a long range gun range in Fannin county but have not heard anything about it for several years. If it is still there Vernon Richardson in Wolfe City would know.

407 gun club is right behind 407 BBQ,has 2 100 yard indoor lanes with camera scoring, sight in about 3/4 inches low and you will be on the money at 200.

So I ended up sighting in at Bass Pro Grapevine with the rifle tube. It is a perfect place to sight in a rifle. 100 yd range, zero wind, lead sled or bags provided, good light on the target, and a track to bring your target back to you. Plus it is a single station so you don't have the guy next to you pounding his .300 super mag with a muzzle break while you are trying to fine tune.

It is by appointment only, and cost $8 per half hour. Call into the main line and ask for the shooting range to set an appointment. It is not where I would want to go to plink because it doesn't have the fun factor of a range. But to get a new scope sighted in with perfect conditions it is exactly what you need.

Thanks for the other options above. I will hit up some of those other spots when I want to go throw some lead.

Baiting is for those who don't have enough time to hunt.

It would really suck if he had a .300 blk ,30-30 or some very arching round and took this advice.

OP was inquiring about "Rifle ranges in the Plano area?; 100 yds+" NOT about baiting OR supplemental feeding programs. If you are not aware of the differences I suggest joining the Texas Hunting Forum - THF or call your county Game Warden.
