I think if you look at this years schedule, along with this years event, they are trying really hard to get rid of the little fish tour label. good for them for trying to compromise.

I think it's their way to get rid of the stigma of them being the More Little Fish league. So essentially if a guy wants to qualify they have to either get lucky with a big bite while fishing for keepers or try and find better average fish like they are fishing for 5. In the end I agree with Spriggs, they will still be CWR format but best 5.

TLDR: it's a cop out.

Doubt it will change their approach.

They better be careful. Tours that start tinkering too much don’t have a good history of survival. Anglers tend to hate it for a multitude of reasons..

I posted in their Facebook page when all the elites swapped to MLF would eventually go to 5 heaviest fish. They quickly responded back that they would never go to that format. I should have screen shot it.

It will for guys in certain positions. Overall I dont think it will but I could see a guy that's blowing it out up top going to look for a big one or a guy at the bottom with no chance doing it. But I think each tournament will start the same.

Typically when a new start up (read new business model) gets reactive in the first year it's not a good sign. Investors looking for ROI that are confident in what's going on won't mess with that direction for a few years just from a credibility standpoint. Could be wrong but it would make me a little nervous on how the guys backing this are going to be if it's not getting the major return from the jump.
