The lake coming up last year ruined all of my spots. Before that I could wade across the back of plum creek, in maybe a foot of water? To bad that spots now 10 feet underwater... Run 4 miles up the river and you’ll find plenty of shallow water and it actually does widen up a bit up there. Where is Plum creek, can’t say that I’ve ever heard anyone mention it before?

My bad, I think the creek I'm talking about is Elm creek

Where’d all the lurkers go?
Hydrilla still looks good. Water temp at South Shore is 63-67 and everything seems to still be biting. Still slaying them in “the creek”!
Curious though, are you guys doing any good in the 4 Fingers area? It’s been a ghost town for me over there, really odd.

There is a little shore line open to fishing at the 99 ramp. I hit the Frio today, water temp 63, lots of floating weed in the main channel. Saw a lot of bait on the fish finder. Had a decent day of fishing -- weather was great too!

I got into a herd of whites last Sunday on the old road bed between Calliham & Hog Island. Hopefully you guys can wipe those things out, filthy little bait eating Shad gobblers.

Our last club tournament of the year on December 14th and 15th at Choke Canyon had seven fisherman total with only four fishing one day due to Christmas time commitments. Results are 1st 32.66, 2nd-24.30, 3rd-14,61, 4th-14.51, 5th-13.20, Big Bass-5.81. Zoom Super Flukes were the go to baits punching the grass are using the Carolina rig. The magic depth is still 12 feet at the edge of the grass. The water temperature was 60 in the morning and 65 in the afternoon. The grass is still healthy and green and the fish are fat and sassy. The south side of the lake continues to have the most boat traffic with all the fish weighed in being caught on that side of the lake. One thing I did notice was that all the fish that were caught, none of them had any Gar scares. It looks like with all the healthy grass and the large area of it that Choke Canyon is going to have an awesome spawn. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to all.
