I’ve gotten out of two or three since I got the veteran license plates on my truck. Most memorable was at Runaway Bay on lake Bridgeport. It is a notorious speed trap. Small town cops just hammer folks driving through on hwy 380 where the limit drops as you cross the bridge and through the one light town. I had come off my cruise control, but not quick enough and he got me doing around 58 in the 45.

He walks up to me and pauses at my bumper. Got to my window and said “Good morning Sir. I just wanted to stop you to tell you thank you for your service. Oh and by the way, the speed limit does drop down to 45 through town here just so you know. Have a safe day!”

Didn’t ask for my license or anything, just turned right around and pulled back into his hiding spot. If you are eligible for one of these plates, it is well worth the $20 fee.

The last 3 times I have been puled over, I got off with a warning. Living in a small county has its perks.

No way man. I wont let the Federal Government violate my constitutional right to not be subjected to being stopped and questioned for no reason other than I am on a given highway...Does being on that highway mean I am suspected of a crime? Of what crime? You cannot stop me and demand I answer questions when you have no reason to suspect I have done a thing. This is America not some arab country or Mexico where anyone with a few trucks and guns can set up road blocks and question people for no reason.

Federal Immigration checks happen at the borders, when crossing them, not 100 miles inside the country.

Fascists.

Ok back to your normal programming.

Same here.... My tickets for the most part have come from the state troopers.. local police usually end up a warning

I got stopped on 154 just south of the minnow bucket doing about 7 over. As soon as I pulled over I opened the door and started puking as my head was killing me and my meds were back in the room. He still gave me a ticket that jack wad. I tried explaining my medical condition but he didn't care.

I know you are joking
Especially considering satellite technology, much more efficient to have several strategically, efficiently placed checkpoints rather than thousands of them placed every mile or so along the actual border.

You have a medical condition that causes you to break the law?

On the highway between El Indio and Carrizo Springs they had a checkpoint manned by CPB, game wardens, and State Troopers.
They were watching cars approach with the biggest binoculars I have ever seen. They only slowed us down and waived us through. It was a big brother is watching you moment. I only hoped I had remembered to tag that 22 inch 12 point buck I had. A couple of years ago I slow rolled through a stop sign in Corsicana about 4am. I guess since I was real sober and obviously going fishing he let me off. Nice guy.

I got pulled over TWICE by the same TX Trooper between Fork and Quitman doing about 12 over. Both times pulling my boat. Both times he gave me a warning.

Was coming home from California (military). Got just past Yuma Az and a state trooper pulled me over for speeding. After all the standard questions he told me that he was going to let me off on this one but there was another trooper between where we were and Tucson (pretty long distance) and that he had better not clock me speeding. Speed limit was 55 back in them days. Anyway got through without ever seeing another patrol in Az. Then get just out of El Paso and get pulled over by another trooper. This time it was for expired inspection sticker. I explained that I was in the military and had not been home in 3 years. He said he understood and was not going to ticket me but even though I was military and living out of state that was no excuse and if another cop pulls me over and wanted to be an a**h*** I would be out of luck. I said "yes sir" and found the first gas station I could to get it inspected.

I've gotten off about 13% off the time over the years. Which means about 13-15 times I've skated with a warning. Yes the math is accurate

My SIL says she pulls her skirt up until they think they are going to get a panty peek and opens her blouse to give them a look at her D cups. She says it works every time so I am guessing that is a Jedi mind trick.
