I have a 2013 Tundra and one of the headlights went out. Thinking about buying a set of LED's as a replacement.

After doing some reading it seems some Tundra owners are having an issue with blowing fuses because some of the new headlights draw more power. It looks like there are a thousand choices in headlights today.

Anybody replaced theirs and Happy with the results?

My brother David had to replace a burned out headlight,on his late model Tundra ,he's a very skilled mechanic,he partially
had to disassemble the front end ....good luck.
here’s how it went down, R&I to replace Left headlamp, then 30 days later the Right hand goes out. R & I again and replace bulb, then 2 months later the L/H parking/ daytime running light goes out. Remove front grill assembly for the 3rd time (today) and replace parking bulb, only to find it’s an aftermarket switchback bulb you have to get off Amazon. So if you see me driving around tomorrow with no front grill, you’ll know it’s because I’m waiting for my bulbs to arrive bang

LEDs should draw less power (much less) than halogen. You might actually have to add an inline resistor to keep the current and fuses happy

I defer all headlight questions to WAWI

Bought some for my Dodge Ram and ended up taking them back out and put my factory lights back in. They were total junk even though I paid 300 dollars for them.

Wow... my 2011 Tundra is as easy as any vehicle I've ever owned. Literally less than 2 min in the Oreilly parking lot.

First rule of thumb when buying LED headlights is to look at your hand with it open as wide as possible, then slap the bejesus out of yourself. Now you know how it feels for every oncoming driver thats trying to see as your LED headlights blind them.

Agree; Submersible LEDs are great for trailer lights due to their reliability (they don’t get hot); also good for indicator lights and running lights; but for main beam headlights they are a hazard to other drivers

Yep.
I don't give courtesy flashes to those drivers.
I wait until they're close and hit the brights.
Same for the morons with fog lights.
Take your fog light trucks to the coast where they actually have fog.
I can count on 1 hand the number of days fog lights are needed.

the f150 has projector type, low beam is really flat across the road and highs will blind a pilot at 10k feet. no idea of cost but they may be an option for the tundra.

As part of a restoration on my ‘99 GMC, I converted it to all LED bulbs. I couldn’t be happier with the new bulbs. My headlights are adjusted correctly to illuminate the road, not the sky, nobody flashes me and the bright white light is so much better than the old yellow bulbs. The backup lights are so bright that I removed the auxiliary floods previously required just to see behind me. The under hood light actually provides enough light to work under the hood. The DRL are no longer weak yellow dots that will eventually burn out another set of sockets and associated wiring. The fog lights illuminate both sides of a two lane road. The headlight high beams are seriously bright way down the road. The interior floorboard lights that you forgot you had now light your way as you enter, and along with the dome light, illuminate the entire cab. The dash lights are adjustable and look great in blue. Blinkers and brake/parking lights are brighter. The third brake light flashes three times then stays on steady, getting the idiot behind you to pay attention. The cargo lights are bright enough to light up the bed and provide rear work lights.

All this while using very little current and lasting years longer than filament bulbs. The current is so low in fact that you must swap the flasher for a solid state flasher to make the turn signals flash.

I got some LED highlights for my 2001 f150 about a year ago for like $150, I love them. I put in LED backup lights, cargo lights and all my interior lights too
