If you have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and you want/need to install new spark plugs, you are in for a heck of a job. You have to take most of the intake manifold off. If it weren't for the video I found on YouTube, I probably would have never started or most assuredly completed the job. The video was deceptive because it was only 35 minutes long. Obviously, the video was started and stopped multiple times to work through problems. And believe me, there are a LOT of problems to work through. This job requires numerous ratchets, extensions, wrenches and screwdrivers to get around all of the hoses, tubes and corners under the hood. You'll need a variety of T20 Torx also. A large pry bar and a trim removal tool will help at certain times.

The video I used had several comments. Most talked about how hard this job was and how much $$$$ the repair shops wanted. The costs ranged from $500 to $700. Let me tell you what, after going through this, I can see why.

I want to thank all of the people that take the time to post videos online for doing things like this. I have worked on my boat, appliances and cars using these videos. They are much appreciated!

Be safe,
Rayzor

Probably because some people actually drive their vehicles and put miles on them.

sure don't want to cross thread one though, then the fun would begin.

I changed spark plugs a few months ago on a 2006 GMC pickup.

Original plugs had 215,000 on them

Only difference I could tell was about 2 mpg better mileage .

Gotta love new cars.

I had to change the alternator in my sons girlfriends Nissan Juke.

Unbelievable!!! Had to remove the front bumper, headlights, turbo intercooler, and partially rearrange the AC condenser....to remove it from the front!

Horrible serviceability.

That’s a complaint for a lot of vehicles these days. I’ll hire it done when the time comes.

This is why I still drive a Chevy. Takes thirty minutes to change a set of spark plugs like it should. Only thing you have to remove is the plug wire.
