I fished with the wife on Monday and we had 5 crappie at 3:00pm, long slow day. She was tired and wanted to go in so I dropped her off at the boathouse.

Went back to one of the tops we had fished earlier in the day by myself, cause I could see the crappie there but they wouldn't bite during the day. I caught 18 more nice Crappie before dark.

Wife wasn't happy.

We went back on Wednesday, left the boathouse at 3:00pm and picked up 12 nice Crappie in a different spot in the last hour before dark.

You just never know, but they seem for me to bite the best right before dark lately.

I need to give that a try. I always go out early and there are two problems with that in winter: 1. Its Cold 2. By the time it gets warm, I am either too tired or too frustrated to stay out there till it gets warm or the fish start cooperating.
