A boat ramp is not the place to learn. Get in a big empty parking lot and learn how to back (using mirrors). If you're a twice a year boater don't get mad at your wife because she can't back down the ramp....teach her at home ( however, the fights are sometimes comical). As far as floating my boat when I'm alone....ain't gonna happen. If you're in that big of a hurry then offer to back my truck for me....it will be appreciated.
To whom much is given, much is required.

If " Floating your boat" means tying a long rope to it and having it float off the trailer , I dont do it because I am afraid it will float into another boat

They have rub rails for a reason.

They have rub rails for a reason. I watched a guy tear his trolling motor off his bow last weekend, at squaw, doing that very thing. Lakes too shallow and ramps too steep. Lol. He looked cool, but I’m sure he was kinda scratching his head a short while later....after hitching a ride to his boat. Lol.

Any minute now the guys will be along that think the floating unmanned boat can mysteriously gain speed and start ramming other boats.

How many times have all the badasses floated their boats then realized nobody saved one for the ride out? I’ve never seen anyone do that or been asked for a ride to one.
