Just thought I would share something that maybe some don't do. When I am finished cutting the V's I save the remainder of the Hackle. That is because you can make a nice tip-less tail jig using a few of the what some may call trash. Just another way to use what some throw in the trash can.

Once I have cut almost all the straight barbules into little V's this is what is left of 3 SW neck hackle feathers.

I took these 3 remnants and made this tail to tie in.
