And I’m looking for some bass I can reach from the banks for now. I just moved here from Florida and posted in the bank forum with not much success. I’m an Army vet and longtime member of the bass resource forum, moved here for work in September and I’m dying to get on some fish. Living in Red Oak and lovin TX so far. If anybody knows some spots near me in Ellis co. Or nearby that I can hit from shore, or had an open seat one weekend I’d definitely throw in for gas and/or whatever else. Thanks for readin’ and hope to hear from y’all.

Welcome to the forum...
I'll keep in touch as I'm proud to have military members share the boat with me.
Ray Roberts has several areas where you can fish from the shore. I know there's more, but that lake is close to me so I see the bank fisherman on it.
PS: Don't forget there are retention ponds that hold fish throughout the housing divisions and some parts of the cities.

Never fished it, but it’s in your neck of the woods. Lake Bardwell. I’ve wanted to give it a try. Maybe someone who knows it will chime in. Also, Google Earth is your friend. You can find some urban places to try too. There is a guy on YouTube that does urban bank fishing around DFW.

Most sections of the trinity river has Bass, especially around the ft worth side. Trinity Park in Ft Worth is a good place to start. There is plenty of access to the river and there are some good ones in there( by good I mean 3-5 pounders)

Thanks for the replies everyone. I do think I’m gonna go try pond hopping with google earth one of these weekends. I used to love doin that. Those of ya that have an open seat sometimes, keep me posted and I hope to get out on the lake with ya. I’ve got a good buddy with a nice rig in burleson but he’s away on business quite a bit so it’s hard to coordinate trips. Thanks for the welcome, and again for the replies.

You might want to come to the Bass Pro in Garland in January and checkout the Ray Hubbard Bass Club. I live in Lewisville so it is kind of a jaunt but well worth it. We have several old Vets (me included) in the club. Come on out and see what you think.

I lived in Jacksonville Hail Boy. Had some pretty good inshore saltwater fishing not far from me when I was there. I’m gonna miss my reds, trout, and flounder. And Warren I might just take you up on that. My wife was born and raised here and has already told me bout the Bass Pro there.
