Mr. Bentman, were you targeting specific structure like brush piles, humps, points or drop offs, or just trying different depths Drifting around in open water? I know nothing about the later but lately on the lake I fish it’s been all about specific cover like brush on the ends of points.

Haven’t fished the lake this fall, but my past experiences tell me it’s way to early for the dam. I would think the fish are somewhere in the 20-25ft range on break lines/ledges.

FYI. Worst sandbass year ever. Well over half of the white bass slipped through the gates. We had the gates open for 5 months. Before May we were landing 300-500 fish easily per trip. Now I’m lucky if I can even find the remainder school that’s left. Takes all day sometimes to limit. It will be normal again in two years. Next year it will prob suck a bit again. Crappie will always be good at Lavon.

Bentman, next time you go to Lavon, Go over to the North side of the island near Clear Lake Park. About 75 yards out from shore there is a brush pile in 20' of water. Crappie were stacked up there just before this last cold spell hit.
