It's a plus to be able to speak to them in their native tongue.

roflmao Yes we have a connection. Mostly they just complain about their owners.

We're the last original owners on our block. we just met new neighbors 2 houses down. They're a nice couple. We know the couple across the street. We're on first name basis with one other neighbor. Never see anyone else out and about.

I have great neighbors, we are spread out so that helps but for the last 11 years it has been outstanding. I was worried when one house sold 2 years ago that it wouldn't be as good a situation but it's better.

Used to, my old next door neighbors were the best, had countless back fence beers, and man we used to throw some epic parties, but alas they moved and the new neighbors are reclusive and weird. My hood has changed quite a bit the last couple of years, the cartel brothers disappeared overnight, and the lesbians and bikers moved away as well, it's gotten rather dull.

I bought the house I’m currently living in back in 1993. Back then, I knew all the neighbors and they were all really nice. In the late 90’s, I bought another house and turned this one into a rental. In 2010, my wife and I had acquired several rentals and we had one really nice home. Then the divorce. Haha. We sold everything but two rentals. I took the very first house that I bought as “mine” and she kept one as “hers”. In 2013, we remarried and now live in our “first house” again. Neighborhood is just not the same. I don’t know any of the new folks, and kinda don’t care to know them. There is a couple of houses that still have the original owners and they BLAME ME for wrecking the neighborhood by having the first rental property. Now the neighborhood is around 40% rentals.

Eh.

It ain’t like they’re family. And it ain’t like I GOT to live there.

Not great, but not overly horrid. Lots of retired air force in the neighborhood. I'm still mad at the neighbor across the street for pollarding a gorgeous live oak in her front yard right after we moved in. I miss the little bitty cuban great grandma we did have. Man, that lady could cook up a storm and her stories were just amazing.

You move a lot, lol.

Gotta move when the heat is on.

I have the best. One is a little over 1/4 mile away the other is about 3/4 mile. We've rode out 2 hurricanes and their aftermath in the last 15 years. We hang together and help each other whenever and then don't get all up in each other's ___________ when we don't need to. One of them has given me free access to his beer fridge. A guy has bought 2 acres by my front gate (across from beer fridge guy). He retired from Houston, has a travel trailer set up with a built over roof and porch and a couple of outbuildings and just sits on the porch drinking Miller Lites all day … all day. Pretty harmless. Has a UTV worth more than his residence.
