If you were trying to convert someone into a Tom Petty fan, which song would you select? My approach would be to select someone worse than Tom Petty that would make Tom Petty sound better, its a short list unfortunately. I heard a song on the radio. It went something like " I kissed a boy and I liked it". You should check it out. Right up your alley.

This is like saying what is the best Beatles song?
His catalog is so deep and varied.
For just a kick [censored] rock song, "Honey Bee" is hard to beat. "American Girl" is a huge anthem song. "Dont Come Around here No More" is one of the coolests and most unique songs ever done.
"Wildflowers" (that whole album) is written better than anything I have ever heard.
