With the 4 team playoff I think whether your ranked 1 or 4 is somewhat irrelevant. No doubt Ohio St. belongs in the top 4 and will need a win against a decent Penn. St. team this Saturday and Michigan the next one. They will play Minnesota or Wisconsin in the Championship game. Their win over Wisc. is their biggest win so far and the Big 10 actually has more teams in the top 25 than the SEC. Ohio St. Came in as a non-conf. Champion and beat Bama badly then mudholed Oregon with their third string QB to win the very first NC playoff format.

Ok, Notre Dame needs to join a conf. The problem is they will join the ACC if they do, which in my opinion is the weakest power 5 conf. I do still think Notre Dame has a mystique to them and love their tradition but will not be relevant until they make some changes to attract top talent. The recruits today really don't know about tradition unless their Grandparents played there for Ara P.
