IMO, it’s childish for grown folks to get gifts. I haven’t had a Christmas gift since I graduated college in 1986. When my wife and I had our son we stopped giving gifts to each other so we could spend that money on our son. Now we give gifts to children in the family and don’t receive from anyone. Christmas has been blown out of the reason for Christmas to just give me, give me. No one remembers the reason for the season but just give me. Naw, I ain’t Scrooge just my opinion. exactly. My wife and I never buy for each other

We have 10 kids and 20 grandchildren so ours can get on up there.

$2000-$3000. My wife and I don’t get each other gifts. We buy gifts for our kids, my mom and step dad.
As for my wife and I? We “Christmas” all year long. Lol.

Way too much on the kids. I don’t expect or want anything for Christmas. If I want something I can get it myself. I’m sort of at the age that it would be hard to buy something for me that I don’t already have already. Christmas has gotten way out of hand. Just glad our family stopped a while ago. Coach Hark did get gifts from us way after his high school graduation though just to set the record straight! We did stop doing that about the time his son was born. It was a lot
And don’t let him fool you that he didn’t get gifts from Henry and his wife and others! A slight embellishment!

Zero. They are grown. We do the White Elephant game. Sometimes my wife and I buy each other something. Other years we get one gift for both of us like gas logs for the fireplace.

4 grown kids and we spend less now than when they were younger living at home partly due to life circumstances and they simply don't need anything.
We started a tradition when the kids were young of adopting a family in the community who was less fortunate. It may be through our church, or the school district or one of our kids would recommend someone they knew who needed help. We got with the family and assessed needs and fulfilled those as a family. Young kids would get gifts to open. We delivered as a family to the chosen recipients. That has stuck with our kids.
Grateful for every sunrise and sunset I get to witness. - Jason

I don’t buy gifts. But instead Riley and I are going to Graceland. Right now with rooms and flight I’m about $2000 in. Probably spend $1000 there . Well worth the memories

Me and family decided last year no gifts exchange except for a great grand baby . That way others didn't have to worry about last minute gifts and shopping . Instead we just had a short family gathering as usual , had a Christmas meal then kids played a game and visited and then all went home not having to feel guilty if anyone liked their gift or not . We'll do the same this year again . That way only me and wife will exchange gifts and enjoy the day Christmas .
