OK fellow lure slingers I have a quetion for your consideration. Texas bass are completely different than other bass. I realize they are Florida strain but they are different non the less. With that in mind which do you prefer to throw the Jackhammer or the Thunder cricket?

I was a fan of the Jackhammer till last weekend when I was skipping one under a dock and the skirt disintegrated and was left shredded floating on the water.

I dont waste my money on over priced lures. I cant imagine a chatterbait being worth $16. I can buy a case of good beer for 3 or 4 dollars more. I think I'd buy a twelve pack and a normal chatterbait and still have money in my pocket.

We caught some of the fish we weighed in at both lakes last weekend on a jackhammer. I think it gets more bites than a standard chatterbait which I throw in practice. Never thrown or even looked at a thunder cricket so I cannot compare.

I bought a thunder cricket threw it twice and then went back to a jackhammer. I just have way to much confidence in a jackhammer. It gets bit like no other vibrating jig will.
I can backlash toilet paper.

Interesting. I throw the Zman products and for me the original is the best. IMO
With that being said I have thrown the jackhammer next to the Pro Elite model and they seem to Vibrate very close if not the same.
I think the vibration is set on the positioning of the blade attached to the eyelet.
The JH/Elite are in the same spot located on the head.
Some eyelets are on top and some out front which changes the vibration completely.
Where the difference might be is for a long time everyone threw the originals and maybe the fish got tuned into it a bit and then the Elite or JH comes along with a little bit different vibration than the others. IMO
The Chatter bait may be the best bait I have seen in my lifetime so far. IMO

If SK wanted me to buy these they wouldn’t have named them “Thunder Crickets”!

Haven’t fished a Thunder Cricket. SK should be embarrassed to put such a poor-quality skirt on such a high dollar bait. If you shop around you can buy JHs for less than a TC.

Its stupid that a bladed jig costs $16. That being said, the jackhammer is a great bait and gets alot more bites than the regular chatterbait. So stupid is as stupid does, and I'll buy more come black friday at tackle warehouse.

Anyone tried the FMTC voodoo vibrating jig? The line tie is open, and you slip a blade in and crimp it shut. No split ring between the blade and jig. I like it a lot and it's cheaper than both the jack hammer and thunder cricket.
